Root is inspired by the shape and materials used to create a traditional iron farming hoe. The bench consists of a single long wood plank flanked by two hoe-shaped feet forged from iron plates.

Agriculture is the foundation of Taiwan's economic history. As such, hand-forged iron farming tools hold a special cultural significance. Root is inspired by the shape and materials used to create a traditional iron farming hoe. The bench consists of a single long wood plank flanked by two hoe-shaped feet forged from iron plates. Root was designed to remind people of the human values we share—practicality, honesty and love of the land.
